On 3 April 2014, State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic Peter Burian received President of the Cyprus-Slovakia Business Association Angelos Gregoriades. Their talks focused on opportunities for bilateral economic cooperation and trade relations, especially in energy policy, tourism and trade with third countries. They agreed that another contribution to the strengthening of mutual cooperation between the two countries will be the Memorandum of Understanding between the Cyprus-Slovakia Business Association and SARIO (Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency), which has already been signed on 7 July 2014. They further stated that honorary consulates are useful for reinforcing the mutual cooperation, as is the idea of establishing a Slovakia-Cyprus Business Association with a seat in Bratislava.
