General information
It has been a decade, since both Cyprus and Slovakia commenced an ambitious plan of deep structural reforms with a vision to become the best business locations in the European Union. Both countries have become members of the EU in 2004 and of the Eurozone in 2008 and 2009 respectively.
The two countries rank high in the Doing Business Report 2014 by the World Bank Group, which considers the following factors: political and institutional environment, macroeconomic stability, market potential, private entrepreneurship support, taxation system, finance, enforcing contracts, the starting and closing of a business, labor market and infrastructure.
Both countries are positioned in strategic geographic locations. Slovakia is located in central Europe close to Vienna in Austria, Budapest in Hungary and Prague in Czech Republic. Cyprus is located between Europe, Asia and Africa.
